Poliner, Poliner, Antin & Cienava Rocco, P.C. is a law firm with a rich history in Middletown, Connecticut. Our firm was founded in 1924 by Israel Poliner, a graduate of Yale Law School who was the first member in his family to go to college. The building in which Israel practiced was built the same year by Israel's father, Jacob Poliner, who immigrated to this country from Europe in 1880.
In 1929, Israel Poliner became a municipal judge in Middletown, a position he served for the next 25 years. Mr. Poliner continued his general law practice and was joined in 1957 by his son Myron, who practiced in the areas of probate and estate administration, wills and trusts, contracts, and the purchase, sale and financing of residential and commercial real estate. Myron's younger brother Robert also joined the firm and practiced business and commercial law with us from 1969 to 2007.
In 1977, attorney Kenneth Antin joined the firm to do general civil litigation and municipal law and general practice areas. Our firm continues to serve as municipal counsel for the towns of Middlefield and Durham. In 1986, our firm merged with the law firm of Poliner and Rosen in Hartford. Bernard Poliner continues as a named partner in the firm today, practicing in the areas of personal injury and workers' compensation. AnnMarie Cienava Rocco joined the firm in 1997 to focus on family law, divorce and child custody cases in addition to general practice areas.
One of the characteristics of Poliner, Poliner, Antin & Cienava Rocco is longevity. Israel Poliner practiced law in Middletown for 56 years, and his son Myron Poliner has continued the practice for more than 51 years. We still greet our clients in the building that was constructed by Jacob Poliner more than 84 years ago.
